String D DSL is down

Freija emails that the string D lost communication at some point over the
weekend. I checked things, the DSL modem has nothing but power, all
connections look good. Emailed asking if I can power cycle it.

2200Z	Freija replied that I could power cycle the modem, no changes.
Reseated the cables, no changes. Note that on power on, nothing
other than the power light comes on.

Brain kicked on that we had ethtool:
	[root@sps-achub enielsen]# ethtool eth5
	Settings for eth5:
Supported ports: [ TP MII ]
		Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full
					100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full
		Supports auto-negotiation: Yes
		Advertised link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full
					100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full
		Advertised auto-negotiation: Yes
		Speed: 10Mb/s
		Duplex: Half
		Port: MII
		PHYAD: 24
		Transceiver: internal
		Auto-negotiation: on
		Current message level: 0x00000001 (1)
		Link detected: no

	Emailing back.

2216Z	I'm wrong here, I powered up a spare one for the
standard candle and no LEDs except power come on if no phone or ethernet is
	connected.
So I don't know what to try except:
	1) replace DSL modem
	2) reboot system

2233Z	She replies, here and Justin authorize the swap.
However, it behaves exactly the same, primary choices:
	1) Other end of DSL dead
	2) ethernet card is hosed.
If only I had something else to plugin to the enet. OK, I'll
plug the enet into the cisco switch, link comes on. So
enet OK. Presumably the DSL ethernet only comes up
	when the DSL is up?

0004Z	OK, various tests then just before trying a reboot I thought
about the PS, pulled one from SC1 and it all works.
Looks like OLD PS has wrong A coming out .3 instead of 2.
	All up
